FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where are you based?

I currently only offer online sessions.

How many sessions will we have and how often do we meet?

We will meet for an initial assessment. On agreeing to work together, the duration of therapy would be discussed.

The duration of therapy is dependant on each individual's needs - some benefit from just a couple, others might benefit from 10-20 sessions. Weekly sessions are best to start with, this ensures we get the most out of our sessions but I do offer bi-weekly sessions if appropriate. Each session lasts 50 minutes.

How much does it cost?

Please contact me to discuss fees. I am registered with Vitality, Aviva, AXA and Cigna. Please contact your insurance provider to ensure your treatment is covered by your policy.

What times are you available?

Please contact me for availability

How do I contact you?

Please email me at drathenaforan@gmail.com

What if I miss a session for any reason?

Once we agree to work together, the agreed session time will be kept available. To enable me to provide you with the best service possible I do charge for missed sessions. However, If you provide me more than 48 hours notice for any missed session, I will try and accomodate you in another time slot.

What if you, as my Therapist, miss a session?

I will provide you with as much notice as possible. I tend to take a small amount of time off at Christmas, Easter and during the Summer. Sessions missed due to my absence will not be chargeable.

What if you are not the right Therapist for me?

A good therapeutic relationship is paramount. If for any reason you do not feel you wish to work with me, then I will do my best to recommend you someone who might be more suited to your specific needs or character.

Is everything 100% confidential?

The content of our sessions is confidential, although I will need to discuss our work with my supervisor. This is standard practice and your identity is not revealed. In exceptional circumstances, where there is convincing evidence that you intend to harm yourself or others, I will inform you of my need to break confidentiality before contacting your GP. I make brief notes after each session in which you will be unidentifiable. These will be securely stored and destroyed after one year.
